Cortana by Microsoft is a personal assistant for Windows 10 Operating System.
Cortana can several things including finding information in your Desktop, Managing Events in a Calendar, Chatting and even telling jokes. Microsoft claims that if one uses Cortana more a more personalized experience can be obtained.
For getting started with Cortana it will be good to speak through the microphone after pressing the mic icon or by just typing in the search box.
The following queries will give an idea about what can be searched in Cortana. What is the age of a person, showing latest scores for a sports event, how many calories are in a particular food, create an event at a prescribed time, change an event's time etc can be searched in Cortana.
Cortana can also give notification and reminders for an event. Then at the time for which notification is enabled the Reminder will be shown with the description provided.
Asking questions like "Hey Cortana" can be customized using the settings.
Cortana is not yet available in certain countries and as soon as it is available make your desktop search a personalised one.
